Strategic Employment Site in Mid Cornwall Granted Planning Consent

BLS has successfully obtained planning permission in respect of a 5.7ha site on land comprising an extension to the existing Indian Queens Industrial Estate immediately adjacent the main A30 Trunk Road in Mid Cornwall. On behalf of H. Developments Ltd BLS advised, prepared and submitted a hybrid outline/detailed planning application for 3,852 sqm of car showroom space, together with approximately 7,400 sqm of B1, B2 and B8 employment space, together with roads, infrastructure and landscaping. While the site was allocated for employment purposes in the former Restormel Local Plan, the site had not been delivered by various public sector agencies that previously owned the site. BLS successfully put together a comprehensive employment based masterplan for the site and fully addressed all the technical issues and the site constraints with the planning strategy.

Having successfully obtained planning consent, BLS are now focusing on the delivery strategy for the site with the assistance of ERDF grant funding from the new Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Convergence Programme.
