Ponsmere Hotel, Perranporth Redevelopment Granted on Appeal

Following yet another refusal of planning permission by Cornwall Council despite a recommendation for approval by its professional planning officers, planning permission has been granted by the Secretary of State after a successful planning appeal. BLS undertook the preparation and submission of the planning appeal on behalf of Perranporth Developments Ltd (Acorn Blue) which was the subject of a Hearing in June.

The proposal involves the demolition of the existing Ponsmere Hotel which dominates the town and beech of Perranporth and the erection of a 28 residential apartment block, 11 houses of which 4 will be affordable dwellings, 2 flats over garages, together with a restaurant. The proposal is of a contemporary design and represents a major investment in Perranporth and will make a major contribution to the regeneration of the town.
